Marsh Supermarkets

Brief: Sell produce as fresh, fashion fresh. A Paris Fashion show was the brief, an environment that provides several specific vignettes, but is clearly a single place, letting light be a critical element, and contrast shape the sensuality. I tried to provide an organic feeling to all the forms, just like what one might find in the forms of fruits and vegetables, but at the same time, feminine and sexy.
(1-3) The set in different configurations. In the first image, we see the “loofa lounge”. I was inspired by the loofa sponge in my shower one morning, as I was searching for ideas. In the second, an open cylinder rotates on a turntable, to mask and reveal our model subject, as well as the set beyond.
(4) A video grab of the set as background to our Orange Slice girl. This shot was given to me from a telecine session by the DP, Marc Reshovsky, a fantastic collaborator, as it would appear on television.
(5) An early conceptual sketch with notes. The idea of river rocks with the gloss clear paint came to me during a hike in the angeles crest, the sensuality of the glistening rocks beneath a flowing arroyo of early spring, fresh and lively.
