PECO
Andrews Jenkins, director

Brief:    Power keeps getting ‘put out’ in the north-
east because of failing tree limbs, hail, heavy rains, snow, and, believe it or not, squirrels disturbing transformers.  So PECO energy wanted to tell everyone that they are investigating alternative ideas that will reduce these incidents. Hence, a mad scientist develops a “Super-tree”, a quirky teacher educates spuirrels on the dangers of gnawing on wires and frolicking upon transformers, and a guru meditates on the weather, trying to hold back the storm. Of course, upon investigation, all are humorous failures.

and laboratory, unveiling the “Super-tree” to an astounded audience.

(3)  A conceptual illustration of the “unnatural” experiment.  This became our construction illust.

(4)  The classroom set where errant rodent are encouraged to redirect their misfit energy towards more productive ventures, such as gathering nuts.

(5)  Conceptual sketch of what a squirrel’s classroom chair might look like.  Of course, the
budget didn’t allow for such embellishments. Steifel/Food Chain Films
