Pizza Hut
Zack Snyder, director

Brief: Circus performers, after a long day beneath the big top, go back to their trailer to discuss where to dine.  They decide to drag the whole circus to Pizza Hut.  Zack had responded to the look of European Circus, especially since this was for European market.

(1)  This Circus exterior set was built on stage so we could see our performers go from the big top to their trailer.  This trailer was built from scratch and could wild into several pieces for the camera and lighting.

(2,3) Interior of the Circus trailer, where our heros discuss dinner.  I really wanted to create some depth, like they could’ve slept there.

Many of the colors were informed by research, and since we were looking for a traditional feel, easy read, I drove it all home with a good age.

(4)  Under the big top (cheap set, we were on it for only 1.5 seconds). In fact, we only saw the exterior set (1) for about a second too.

(5)  That is right.  We built a Pizza Hut restaurant on stage, with a parking lot.  It was very abstract, I thought.  I was keen to throw up a translight, but they took care of that in post.

Below is a reference I found of a common European Circus trailer, I adorned mine a bit more, but basically, this is a very iconic object.
