Sprint
Stephen Kessler, director
Brief: This spot should speak to the average American, not too flashy or modern, yet funny. Unexpected moments in familiar places. An overly chipper Sprint customer service representative zealously reaches out to new customers, no matter where they are or how difficult a task it may be to convert them to Sprint savings. She shows up on the side of a skyscraper, in the newsroom of the local news, and in grandma’s kitchen.
(1) Skyscraper facade set built on parallels to a height of over 45’ and comped together with a CGI matte painting of the lower structure, for a shot much like my illustrations (5), and composited with a plate shot on location for a frame as shown below.
(2) Interior of Sprint office built on stage.
(3) Insert set for skyscraper to allow filming safely on the ground. Translight reflected in glass.
(4) Granny’s kitchen built on stage (on the
cheap)
(5) My illustration of our CGI comp shot looking down building.
(6) My illustration of our plate shot comp for the three shot coverage.
